Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of https://hittheroaddude.co (the "Service"), operated by HitTheRoadDude ("we", "us"). By using the Service or clicking Make my video, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service

You upload one photo of yourself, a consenting adult or your pet. AI creates a “Hit the road dude” meme video that puts the selected person or pet in the driver’s seat. The scene contains strong language. Generation time and output quality vary.

We send your photo to third-party AI processing providers to make your video. We share it with them only to make your video; their own terms govern how they handle data on their side. Processing may take place outside the country where you live.

We can change, suspend or stop any part of the Service. We give notice where we reasonably can.

Who may use the Service

You must be at least 18 years old. By using the Service you confirm that you are.

You do not need an account. We create a guest session in your browser when you start an upload or checkout. You may sign up or sign in later. Guest credits, jobs, photos and videos tied to your purchase email then move to your registered account. We do not currently verify email addresses, so ownership is matched by the purchase email. Use an email address that only you control. You are responsible for activity on your guest session and your account, and for keeping your sign-in details secret.

Your photos and what you confirm

When you click Make my video, you confirm that:

• you own the photo or have permission to use it in this way;
• every person pictured has agreed to be in the photos and to have their likeness used to make the video; and
• nobody pictured is under 18.

You must not upload:

• photos of anyone under 18;
• photos of a person who has not agreed, including a photo taken or taken from social media without their consent;
• photos of public figures or celebrities, or any photo used to mislead people about who is shown;
• nudity or sexual content, or photos that you ask the AI to turn into nudity or sexual content.

Acceptable use

You must not use the Service or its results to:

• harass, bully, threaten, defame or humiliate anyone;
• commit fraud or impersonate any person or organisation;
• create or share a misleading deepfake, or present the video as real footage of a real event;
• break any law or anyone's rights, including copyright, privacy and publicity rights;
• bypass our rate limits, attack, probe or overload the Service, or use automated tools to generate videos at scale;
• resell access to the Service.

When you post a video to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or any other platform, you must follow that platform's rules. Where a platform requires you to label AI-generated content, you must label it.

Credits, pricing and payment

• You pay for credit packs with a one-time payment in US dollars: $9.99 for 1 credit (1 video) or $19.99 for 3 credits (3 videos). Prices are shown at checkout and can change for future purchases.
• One credit makes one video.
• Credits do not expire with time. There is no free trial and no free quota.
• You do not need an account to pay. Stripe processes the payment. We never see your full card number.
• Credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money or given to another person.

Failed generations and refunds

• A generation fails. We automatically give the credit back to your balance. This includes a generation that a third-party AI processing provider rejects. You can use that credit for any later video.
• You do not like the result. The credit is not refunded. A new take uses another credit. Results depend on your photos, so we suggest sharp, well-lit, front-facing photos of a single adult or pet.
• Payment errors and duplicate charges. If you were charged in error or more than once, email help@hittheroaddude.co with your purchase email and the date and amount. We correct the error and, where appropriate, refund the payment to the original payment method.
• Except as set out in this section, or where the law gives you a right that we cannot remove, payments for credit packs are not refundable.

AI-generated results

The video is made by AI. We do not promise that it will look like the people in your photos, that it will be free of visual errors, or that it will suit any purpose. Results vary with photo quality, lighting, pose, filters, sunglasses and many other factors. A third-party AI processing provider may reject a photo or a result that it considers unsafe. In that case the generation counts as failed and we return your credit.

You are responsible for how you use and share the video. We do not check whether your use of a result complies with the law or a platform's rules.

Ownership and licences

Your photos. You keep all rights you have in your photos. You give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, copy and process them, and to send them to a third-party AI processing provider, only as needed to run the Service for you, to keep it safe, and to enforce these Terms. This licence ends when we delete the photos, except for copies we must keep by law.

Your video. We do not claim ownership of your videos. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to download the video, keep it, and share it on social media and in messages, including on your own accounts. Any other use, including selling the video or using it in paid advertising, needs our written permission. Copyright protection for AI-generated material differs between countries, and we give no promise that a video can be protected.

Our marketing. We do not use your photos or videos in our marketing without your permission.

The Service. The Service, its name, design, software and prompts belong to us or our licensors. These Terms give you no right to them, other than the right to use the Service as described here.

Storage and deletion

We keep original uploaded photos for 14 days after upload and then delete them. Temporary files created while making a video are deleted within 14 days. We keep your finished video and its cover until you ask us to delete them. You can see your videos in My creations. To delete photos or videos, email help@hittheroaddude.co and include your purchase email so we can find your guest history. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

Our right to refuse and remove content

We can refuse a photo or a request, delete any photo, image or video, and suspend or end your access, if we believe you broke these Terms, if the law requires it, or if the content harms others. If we end your access because you broke these Terms, we are not required to refund unused credits or credits spent on the content that broke the Terms. We can report unlawful content, including any sexual content involving a minor, to the authorities.

Warranty disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we give no warranty of any kind, including for quality, accuracy of likeness, availability, speed or fitness for a purpose. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for loss of profit, data or reputation, that arises from your use of the Service or from content you or others create or share with it. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

Your responsibility

To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover the losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that we suffer because you uploaded photos without the rights or consents described above, or because you broke these Terms.

Governing law

These Terms and any dispute about them or the Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer law in your country says otherwise.

Changes to these Terms

We can update these Terms. When we do, we change the date at the top. For material changes we also add a notice on the Service. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
